I am LOVING the simple and sleek makeup look for Winter 2010-2011 of dark smokey eyes, matte skin, and a nude lip! It’s a classic, dramatic look that everyone should test this season.
The key to making it work for you? Find the right shape for your eye and face shape! This might take a few tries where you’ll sway from trashy to zombie-ish, but the trick is to get the right amount of drama to complement your face shape, personality and style.
A clean and classic smokey eye will usually be in a round shape directly on and around the apple of the eye lid, then brought under the eye mid-way to enhance the look of the bottom lashes.
For a more dramatic look, create an almond-shape by bringing the outside edge to a point. Here’s an example of a more dramatic look:
