Hi, my name is Savannah. And I’m a shoe-aholic….

I think it’s because my feet are a lovely little size 5.5, and I can fit into all the beautiful vintage pumps and funky 70s boots. But it does seem that my taste in footwear is becoming more and more refined – steering away from the thrift and vintage shops finds and heading towards that gorgeous new Michael Kors peep-toe heel or that Guess platform sandal…

But my anorexic wallet and dripped-dry bank account aren’t the only issues. What about closet space?!?!

You’ll often see in magazines or on TV that super stars like Mariah Carey and Oprah have these immaculate closets that are colour coded and extremely organized. Or my dream closet? Cher’s on Clueless with the computerized version of herself to dress up them the ‘closet’ sorts out the ensemble for you.

So anyways…without a billion dollars, I had to get my thinking cap on…This is what I had to work with:

And that’s not even all of them…

…but here’s what I did!

1. Went to a local department store and bought a lot of pretty boxes!!

2. Painstakingly took photos of each pair of shoes…ugh.

3. Printed off photos of each of the shoes, cut them into small pics and taped them to the pretty boxes. I recommend taping the photos instead of gluing, in case you ever want to get rid of a pair (gasp!) or move them into a different box. *However, as you can see in the photo below, the humid PEI air has curled the paper a bit, so keep that in mind when you’re fastening the pics.

4. And voila! We’ve got a very simple way to find the right shoes for an outfit, and keep them clean and tidy!
